The stretch of the Chalgrove brook which flows through Stadhampton is over wide and deep after years of dredging activities. It is also highly shaded limiting the amount of in channel vegetation that can grow. In a collaborative project with the Environment Agency and with the help of RTCT volunteers berms have been installed to narrow the channel and gravel has been introduced to provide new spawning habitat for fish. Tree work has also opened up the channel to sunlight giving vegetation the opportunity to grow.
This project took place between the summer of 2017 and summer of 2018.
