Water Quality Monitoring

We are enlisting local volunteers to help monitor the health of the River Thame and its surrounding waterbodies (tributaries, ponds, ditches, lakes) by measuring the level of two widespread nutrients, nitrate and phosphate. Sites need to be tested using simple kits once during Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct (every three months). Sites have been strategically selected to get a good coverage across the catchment and to pick up on key polluting pressures.

If you are interested in taking on a monitoring site please select some from the map above and fill in the sign up form. We will then be in touch with more information about your site.

Please note: Some of these sites are provisional. We are still waiting to hear back from some landowners and therefore sites may be liable to change to another nearby waterbody. Please do not visit a site unless you have signed up and been in contact with us.
